TexasHSFootball.com has grown into one of the most respected news outlets covering high school football in Texas. The cover the stories of athletes and coaches across the state through their articles, podcasts, and annual magazine.
The Challenge
As texashsfootball.com published news articles, it became apparent that building a community through their social media accounts was their biggest need to scale. However, with larger competitors inundating search feeds, their challenge was to cut through the noise and create relationships with their followers.
The Solution
The solution was two-fold: create a community by using live video to cover events larger outlets were missing and build a recognizable social media brand. Through live video, community conversations, and polls with pinpoint audiences, their team was given the tools to succeed.
The Results
One of texashsfootball's goals was to build a following of more 100,000 during 2016 fiscal year. Their live video conversations, geosocial tagging, and polls created a vibrant community of more than 100K in less than two quarters. Their team has succesfully leveraged that network to land partnerships with organizations such the USA Today high school sports network.
